The Bangladesh government is introducing a loan scheme offering up to 10 lakh BDT (1 million taka) to support students pursuing higher education abroad. According to the State Minister for Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Nurul Haque Nur, the initiative aims to remove the requirement for substantial bank guarantees, easing financial barriers for students from middle‑income families. He did not clarify whether the loan would be repayable with interest.
